Citing a "difference in philosophies," Golden State Warriors' head coach Marl Jackson opted to reassign his assistant coach, an NBA veteran who is otherwise simply known as the "White Mamba."
Whereas most media outlets will criticize Coach Jackson for the move and ultimately ponder why such a reassignment was made in the first place, we here at RidiculousUpside.com aren't here to do that...at least, not yet.
Instead, we can take solace in the fact that we can have a little fun with the recent announcement.
With that in mind, we can assert this much: Brian Scalabrine has been assigned to the NBA D-League.
According to a recent report via a team spokesman, Coach Jackson re-assigned the NBA veteran to working with the Santa Cruz Warriors the rest of the way.
Should Coach Scalabrine be able to put aside any bitterness he may have surrounding the recent move, he could undoubtedly prove to be an invaluable source of knowledge and experience for a Santa Cruz squad that is currently not only in the thick of a playoff race for the division crown, but also looking to make a repeat trip to the D-League Finals.
After all, Scalabrine himself happens to be an NBA champion.
