With NBA Summer League coming to a close earlier this week, basketball will now head into the dead of its offseason. The top free agents are mostly now all off the market, and there won't be any games to be played until later in the fall.
But alas, filling out each respective team's roster will remain an objective. Squads will need to see to it that the remaining spots on their coaching staffs are subsequently occupied.
With that in mind, the slew of D-League athletes (and coaches, too) can only hope that their recent efforts in Las Vegas were enough to garner consideration in the weeks and months to follow.
Now that the weekend is here, let's take a look at some of the related links floating around the web from our friends.
As an inspiring lilliputian, Yuki Togashi was a neophyte who garnered quick fanfare as he stole the show for the Dallas Mavericks in Las Vegas. With the guard hoping to play in the D-League this coming season, our ole' buddy Gino Pilato explored his potential on-the-court impact at D-League Digest.
While the Oklahoma City Thunder are attempting to utilize a bit of an unorthodox method in order to hold on to Josh Huestis, the always thought-provoking Adam Johnson of SeaDubsCentral.com explains why OKC are actually quietly becoming "draft and stash" experts right here.
For more with Adam, you can click here to watch the latest episode of "Sea Dubs TV, where he was joined by RidiculousUpside.com's own Keith Schlosser.
One of the most well-known and watched D-League athletes from last season, Pierre Jackson's summer has been filled with plenty of ups and down and respective twists and turns. Our friends over at NBADLeague.com further profiled his journey a bit more right here.
And although this link here is more of a nugget from Las Vegas in general (though Hawks guard and NBADL alum Dennis Schröder was involved), our buddy Seth Rosenthal provides a closer look at Rockets' General Manager Daryl Morey's ping pong tournament. Some of SB Nation's own bloggers competed.
And finally, in case you missed it, we here at RidiculousUpside.com spoke to a couple of D-League head coaches about their experiences working with NBA affiliates at Summer League. Take a look by clicking here.
That's all for now, but make sure to enjoy your Saturday. Happy reading!
