NBA Mock Draft: Boston Celtics Select Christian Wood from UNLV

New, 2 comments

SB Nation's NBA Network conducted a mock draft with bloggers from each team site making or trading "their" team's pick. We continue with the next pick in the 2015 NBA Mock Draft, with CelticsBlog selecting Christian Wood of UNLV.

NBA Mock Draft Pick #28 -- Christian Wood, Forward, UNLV

SB Nation's Celtics blog, known as CelticsBlog, explains the pick:

With two picks in the first round (and more to come in the 2nd) the Celtics are fond of taking a gamble on the 28th pick. The upside of Wood with his length and athleticism is worth rolling the dice on. The downside is that he's still very raw and apparently hasn't had the greatest workouts (questions about his focus and motor are always a red flag). Still, he's got the tools to be a plus rebounder and shot blocker and maybe even a good shooter. The Celtics should be able to give him the right environment and coaching to maximize his potential over time. Like all the Celtics picks (and players), this pick could be moved in a trade sooner or later.
