NBA Mock Draft Pick #7 — Michael Porter, Forward, Missouri
SBNation’s Chicago Bulls blog Blog-A-Bull explains the pick:
If he can stay healthy, Michael Porter Jr. has the natural talent to be a primary offensive option in this league. He should have a baseline level of success with his combination of size (6’11), athleticism and scoring instincts. He also still has so much room to get better in his skill set, starting with his ball handling and shooting, and also his ability to make an impact on defense. This isn’t the slam dunk pick some Bulls fans might think it is, but it’s still a decent bet on star power at the No. 7 pick. The Bulls can do some interesting offensive things with a Markkanen-Porter front court pairing. We totally recognize the risk associated with this pick, but it’s a gamble we’re willing to take.
