According to the Fort Wayne News-Sentinel, the Mad Ants coaching search is down to four candidates with a decision, I understand, forthcoming this weekend.  I'll list them in order of my preference.

Joey Meyer - If he doesn't get this, I'd be shocked.  Shocked, I tell you.  Two D-League championships, 14 seasons as head coach at DePaul along with his father, Ray Meyer, being a coach as well.  There isn't a better minor league coach available.

Bob MacKinnon - I like Bob. He's fiery, he runs a fun offense, and he just won a championship with Colorado.  He also made Brandt Andersen hate him, so I feel like we're in a fraternity together.

Duane Ticknor - Tick's a legend.  Doesn't have quite the resume that Meyer does, but Coach Ticknor can develop with the best of them - namely future coaches.  Ask about half the coaches in the D-League, and they'd probably consider Ticknor an influence in their coaching career - including two of the best young coaches, Bryan Gates and Nate Tibbetts.

Scott Roth - Roth's currently working out Hasheem Thabeet, so I don't think you have to worry about his ability to develop players.  He also turned Bakersfield from terrible when he took over last season to good this season.  The only reason I have him fourth is because when we re-buy Bakersfield, I think Coach Roth would love to work for us - or anyone else if Bakersfield re-opens the $2 million practice facility.
