Poll: Will The New Affiliation System Work For The NBA D-League?

Will the new affiliation system be successful for the NBA D-League?

Simon Watts

It's safe to say that, in the interest of moving in the direction of becoming a more traditional minor league, having an one-to-one relationship with an NBA team is rapidly becoming a popular trend for D-League teams.

This coming season, the league will feature an all-time high of seventeen teams with exclusive NBA partnerships. The defending champion Fort Wayne Mad Ants (the D-League's lone standing independent squad) will look to maintain multiple relationships and accommodate the remaining thirteen NBA teams not entered into single minor league partnerships.
