With the 2015-16 basketball season inching closer, the NBA D-League announced that its newest minor league franchise, the Raptors 905, have selected sixteen players in the latest expansion draft. The selections are as follows:

Player                         Most Recent NBADL Team (Year)

Dee Bost Idaho Stampede (2013-14)

Earl Clark Rio Grande Valley Vipers (2014-15)

Abdul Gaddy Maine Red Claws (2013-14)

Luke Harangody Texas Legends (2014-15)

Dahntay Jones Fort Wayne Mad Ants (2014-15)

Kevin Jones Canton Charge (2013-14)

Ricky Ledo Texas Legends (2014-15)

C.J. Leslie Idaho Stampede (2013-14)

Ramone Moore Delware 87ers (2013-14)

Mustafa Shakur Oklahoma City Blue (2013-14)

Will Sheehey L.A. D-Fenders (2014-15)

Nolan Smith Delaware 87ers (2014-15)

Scott Suggs Santa Cruz Warriors (2013-14)

Ty Walker Reno Bighorns (2014-15)

Mitchell Watt Santa Cruz Warriors (2014-15)

Michael Williams Sioux Falls Skyforce (2014-15)

Normally, expansion drafts aren't utilized for building up one's roster, but much more so actually gathering assets and/or taking a chance on the hope that these aforementioned NBA veterans will get cut and/or return from overseas play and choose to play another stint in the D-League. At which point, they'd be headed to Toronto.

The likes of Luke Harangody, Earl Clark, Dahntay Jones, Kevin Jones, and Ricky Ledo all have NBA experience, whereas many of the other players selected now make their careers (and money) playing international ball.
