D-League Players Participating In NBA Tryouts; NBA Players Being Assigned To D-League

Kyle Weaver could soon be doing this in the NBA again.

The NBA Development League had a pretty good Monday. It might not have been quite as good as Ice Cube's, but today was definitely a good day for the D-League.

First, news came from the NBA that three players would be finding new homes in the D-League. First, the Atlanta Hawks made a move as Pape Sy was assigned to the Utah Flash, something I've been speculating about since September.

A short while later, the Cleveland Cavaliers announced that Samardo Samuels would make his D-League debut with the Erie BayHawks tonight against the Dakota Wizards. You might remember Samuels from his impressive run with the Chicago Bulls this summer in Vegas.

The last of the official assignments came when the Los Angeles Lakers finally decided they could spare Devin Ebanks enough for some time with the Bakersfield Jam. If nothing else, that's a lot of athletes to be putting around Luke Zeller!

Then, word got out that the Cavaliers were possibly making another D-League move as they're looking for a Jawad Williams replacement and are hosting six possible candidates. Among those slated to possibly fill the void are the Iowa Energy's Othyus Jeffers and Kyle Weaver, the Reno Bighorns Patrick Ewing Jr. and Marcus Landry, former Austin Toro Alonzo Gee and Antoine Wright. My bet's on Weaver, but I'd be happy with anyone but Wright (D-League hooah!).

And that wraps up your daily roundup of D-League stories from today!

Pick Wright!

Omaha's Christmas List:

Anthony Tolliver to get healthy and resume doing this (see picture).

The Suns to go on a tear with their new parts.

A healthy Green Bay Packers team for a deep playoff run.

Gregory Echenique to become the love-child of Charles Barkley and Dikembe Mutombo.

Bubba Starling to say "Screw baseball" and head to Lincoln to take Taylor Martinez's job.
