This is basically the extent of what we can look forward to from the NBA Combine, but hey, it's better than nothing.
Today is the first day of the NBA Draft Combine, the now annual Chicago event that pits top college players head-to-head to see who should be drafted highest allows us to know just how tiny Tiny Gallon really is (#SpoilerAlert - Chad Ford says he's still weighing in at about 295).
While Draft Express (via Twitter) has already confirmed that John Wall, Evan Turner, Derrick Favors, DeMarcus Cousins, Al-Farouq Aminu, Wesley Johnson, Ed Davis, Hassan Whiteside, Cole Aldrich, Ekpe Udoh and even Daniel Orton won't be participating in any basketball related activity, the combine isn't a complete waste.
That's because prospects are still doing interviews with individual teams, undergoing physicals, getting their measurements... measured as well as other athletic testing as well as meeting with the media - so it isn't a total waste of time. It also seems that the remainder of the Combine participants will, you know, participate.
The other intriguing development is that the basketball that does happen will be shown on ESPNU starting at 9am CT today and going until 1pm - if my cable box isn't lying to me, anyway.
SBNation's Derek Bodner, of Liberty Ballers and Draft Express fame, will also be in attendance and alerting us to any important developments as well.
I'm setting the alarm to wake up extra early this morning to watch - if you're doing the same, feel free to let me know in the comments and we can geek out while watching Xavier Henry shoot uncontested jumpers.
