NBA Mock Draft Pick #21 -- Demetrius Jackson, Point Guard, Notre Dame
SBNation's Atlanta Hawks blog, Peachtree Hoops, explains their pick:
The PG situation will evolve this offseason, with the team looking for another place for Jeff Teague and handing the starting job to Dennis Schröder. But the Hawks need to hedge their future at the position since Dennis hasn't shown the total maturity package to fully run the team. Enter Jackson, who has the speed and ability to break down defenses by getting into the lane that will fit into the Hawks offense.
Ridiculous Upside analysis: With Jeff Teague likely leaving Atlanta, the Hawks will be in pursuit of a point guard that can be Dennis Schroeder's back-up. Demetrius Jackson might be the best option to fill that role, as he stood as one of the best point guards in college hoops for the last two seasons. He was able to maintain that status by being a terrific cutter that can get to the rim whenever he desired. Alongside that, Jackson has great court vision, as he maintained a 2.11 Ast/TO ratio in the 2015-16 season.
