NBA Mock Draft Pick #24 -- DeAndre Bembry, Forward, St. Joseph's

SB Nation's Philadelphia 76ers blog, Liberty Ballers, explains their pick:

With the 24th pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, the Philadelphia 76ers select DeAndre' Bembry, guard/forward out of St. Joseph's University. The junior is a local product, and we're thrilled at add him. He was 17th on our staff big board, and getting him deep in the first round of the draft is a coup. Aside from when Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor stepped on each other's toes, the Sixers' biggest offensive struggles involved shot creation. Adding Bembry, Ben Simmons, and (hopefully) Dario Saric gives the Sixers three plus-passers for their positions, which is three more than they had at any point last season for any spot on the floor. We additionally like his defensive versatility and will be sending him to shooting camp (with Simmons) as soon as humanly possible.

Ridiculous Upside analysis: With the selection of DeAndre Bembry, the 76ers basically selected the east coast version of Ben Simmons. While four inches shorter than Simmons (Bembry stands 6'5 with a 6'9 wingspan), he still has a lot of the same attributes as Bembry. Both players are terrific facilitators for their position, with the ability to drive to the paint whenever they desire. Of course, Bembry also shares those same shooting struggles as the LSU alum. With that said, Bembry has the makings to be a fantastic role player due to the aforementioned court vision, cutting and solid defensive instincts.
