Do YOU Wanna Be a Snake Charmer?!
I'm not sure how many of my loyal readers are based in McAllen, Texas, apparently the heart of the Rio Grande Valley, but the Vipers will be holding Snake Charmer tryouts July 11th and 12th at "a location to be announced."
Scandalous, I know. Unfortunately, only the finals on July 12 from 1:30-to-4:30 p.m. will be open to the public.
Judges will focus on dance technique, enthusiasm, energy, figure, personal appearance, personality, poise, showmanship and double turns.
If I was anywhere near McAllen, I'd be there. I'm amazing at double turns, but I'd rather be a Skyleader.
Happy Hump Day!

"location to be determined" also known as "Hooters"
This is awesome. I have been waiting for the Vipers to make some kind of press release about cock teaser snake charmer tryouts. When I get back from vacation I’m writing an epic fanpost about this.

What about the Madame Ants?
No love for the Madame Ants? Best dance team and best dance team name in the D-League!
I am going to try and get some direct quotes from Jeff Potter and Coach Meyer after the press conference at 1pm. I’ll post them here and on my blog.

Wait!
Coach Meyer is the Fort Wayne Coach!?
And I feel jilted by Fort Wayne altogether. One of their sales guys promised he’d blog everyday, but it barely lasted a week.

I know I know
Okay, so I’ll admit to failing at my goal of blogging for a straight month. But if you compare my blog ratio to Potters, I am doing pretty darn good. Even bigger news, now that Coach Meyer has been announced, Jeff Potter has promised to start blogging again. Apparently the coaching search was really cutting into his blog time. Before you get too excited, the blog is more likely to be about “You Think You Can Dance” than anything D-League related.

Wow, they have truely brain washed you in the office. So which one are you dating? lol
Question for you Garrett, reading about the conference I noticed Joey stated about building a relationship w/ our affiliates and them having confidence in developing their younger players, he states that he has talked w/ all 3 already and has had great talks w/ them…. Thats great, however do you feel that the affiliates ever had a bad feeling about sending their youngsters here to be developed under Jaren? Not intended as a knock on Jaren. Just wondered what your thought was on how the senior circuit might have viewed Jaren as a player developer. "Coleman must not have that much of a opinion on Jarens player developing skills seeing how he had nothing good, nor bad to say about his experience w/ him. C- ya ……Ants to “CHAMPS”

I wish!
Jeff Potter would probably be a better person to ask about our past coaches relationships with our affiliates. Maybe I can get him to blog about it (if he ever gets back to blogging!) I know Jaren went and visited each affiliate to meet the coaching staff and sit in on a practice or two. So I think the affiliates were comfortable, but I think Coach Meyer just takes it to another level. They know what he has done to help guys like Ramon Sessions. He just has so much experience and worked with so many different people over the years.
The Bucks last year simply did not have anyone that would be a goof fit to send to the D-League. They were originally talking about sending down Luc Mbah a Moute but he played so well for them that he began to get a big chunk of minutes. I know the Pistons were concerned about sending Walter Sharpe down because of a sleeping disorder that he had and thought it would be bad to give him a sudden change of scenery. I am not sure why we did not see more of a guy like Alex Acker.
The Pacers have never used the D-League, and I know our fans and office would love to see that change. With it being a two hour drive, it would be so easy to send a rookie down for a game or two at a time to get some real on-court experience.
Okay, I will quit rambling, hopefully I at least partially answered the question. :)

I feel like this is a lame superawesome attempt at a biblical reference. I’ll take it.
