2010-2011 D-League Affiliations Announced
The D-League announced its affiliations for the upcoming season earlier today. The biggest news is that the Texas (Frisco) Legends will be solely affiliated with the Dallas Mavericks, although the press release doesn't specify whether it will be a direct or hybrid affiliation (the Legends are co-owned by Mavs exec Donnie Nelson).
In light of the LA D-Fenders shutting down for the year, the Lakers will now be affiliated with the Bakersfield Jam, setting off a chain reaction that pushes the Warriors over to the Reno Bighorns and the Orlando Magic over to the New Mexico (formerly Albuquerque, they're now based in Rio Rancho) Thunderbirds.
Finally, it appears the rumored New Jersey Nets-Springfield Armor direct affiliation won't be happening this year.
