Earl Barron Tweets He Has A Tryout With The Portland Trail Blazers
Earl Barron has played in 19 NBA games this season while amassing a 6.5 PER by averaging 3.8 points and 3.3 rebounds while shooting 33 percent from the field. Amazingly, that hasn't stopped the Portland Trail Blazers from bringing him in for a workout on Monday morning.
Barron, a 7-foot center with 108 games of NBA experience (and 121 games of D-League experience), posted to Twitter on Sunday that he was "headed to Portland for a workout hopefully they sign me for the playoffs. Keep me in your prayers."
It's unclear if this will be an individual workout or if Barron is part of a group workout as he was back in November when the Blazers eventually opted to sign Sean Marks over a selection that also included Eric Boateng, Dwayne Jones and former Blazer Shavlik Randolph who has since signed in Puerto Rico.
Barron has played for the Phoenix Suns and Milwaukee Bucks this season, but as the earlier numbers would lead one to assume, he was not retained for the remainder of the season.
Barron was pretty outstanding in the final games of the 2009-10 season with the New York Knicks, however, leading me to hypothesize that the big man might be better in NBA as opposed to the D-League.
I'll be posting more information on this in the morning, more than likely.

He's up to 33%?
Wow, he must have went on a tear in Milwaukee.
What happened with Chris Johnson? Did they not like him?

Collins to Barron? Ouch. The Suns have gone through that experience. Not very fun.
