NBA Mock Draft Pick #15 -- Henry Ellenson, Power Forward, Marquette
SBNation's Minnesota Timberwolves' blog, Canis Hoopus, explains their pick:
We are shocked and thrilled that Ellenson is still available at this point, and have no hesitation in picking him up. We think his combination of size and skill is among the best in this draft, and believe eventually he will be a two-way difference maker and develop into a shooting big man with the size to battle in the paint and rebound the ball.
Ridiculous Upside analysis: Considering that Ellenson is projected as a mid-to-late lottery player, this is great value for the Timberwolves. He might be the most skilled offensive big in this year's draft, as he's proficient as an on and off-ball cutter, shooter and offensive rebounder (averaged 2.6 offensive boards per 40 minutes). However, his struggles on defense are noticeable as Ellenson is really slow on the side of the court, while also displaying poor instincts. However, the potential of him working the HORNS with Karl Anthony-Towns is a good enough reason for them to pick him at #15.
